This is gonna be a week of "UGH"

Hi!

First the good news! Today (at 12 o'clock noon), I will start my new job as a contractor (v-) at Microsoft! :D :D: D :D I will be my first foray into "technical" project management as a Project Support Analyst. :)

So why the "UGH" you ask? Well the "UGH" has nothing to do what-so-ever with me getting a new job. I am actually really really stoked about working again (especially with Microsoft! :D ). So much that I even had trouble falling asleep right off of the bat last night. :D

The "UGH" has to do with the terrible soreness that I am having from my whole legs... A little back story I suppose.

Last Thursday, I hiked up some trails on Mount Rainier. It was a total of around 5 miles over roughly 1500 feet of elevation (I think). Roughly around 4 hours total. Two days after that (Saturday), I joined a few friends to go hike up Mount Si (8 miles round trip, 3000ft of elevation, and ~6-7 hours). This was particularly a killer trip. Carrying a second back pack for a friend really exhausted me as well (was really worried for my friend haha). I didn't compensate for the extra load enough and I totally ran out of energy half a mile to the top. Good thing we had a hearty lunch at the top and made it down relatively alright (though I had to take extra caution to preserve my bad knees). The next day (Sunday) I woke up and my whole leg was pretty much screaming sore (you know it's sore when the first thing that happens after you open your eyes is the pain screaming haha). So what did I do to nurse myself in preparation for my first day on the job? I played soccer (futsal) that afternoon during a Malaysian gathering that we hosted in our back yard. I ran around like a maniac (a maniac with a full stomach too HAHA), slipping and sliding on our lawn, jumping, heading, dribbling, and tackling. Heck, I even scored a goal too (as well as becoming a crazed defender)... ;)

Anyone wanna guess what I felt the moment I opened my eyes this morning? ;)

Wish me luck this week fellow readers! :D

Happy Leap Day

Today is the 'extra' day for this year.

If you're bored and a dork (nothing wrong with that - everyone has their moments) here's the details about it.

Well TGIF. I as usual have Fridayitis. Don't feel like accomplishing much. Especially after a long hard tiring week. Jokingly, I have Fridayitis and Tendonitis. Awesome!

I still hate this brace that I have on. But I have decided to reuse my roll of bandage to 1) help cushion the stupid splint from digging into my inner wrist and 2) to restrict the movement of my thumb.

Hopefully this speeds up recovery. Ugh I hate not being able to move. :\

Argh

I would just like to state once again for the record. I really hate this fucking stupid brace. Jeez.

My wrist is all stiff as shit, my thumb still hurts, and the stupid metal splints are digging into my arm...

I'm gonna use my roll of bandage underneath this brace to see if that will help cushion that stupid metal splint from wrecking further havoc on my inner arm.

Sooo...

I bought this wrist brace on my way back from work yesterday (a quick pit stop @ Walgreen's - splash & dash if you will) and bought a 'real' wrist brace. It has like these two aluminum splints and 3 straps which pretty much immobilizes my wrist. It's helping with the pain I guess since I pretty much don't have a working joint (haha) unless if I try to move my thumb too much (maybe I need a splint for that too eh?).

But man my wrist feels stiff from not being able to move and the plate is digging into my inner arm (the soft part). Argh!

But I have imposed a 2 week wearing period to myself to keep this bad boy on and man it's gonna be rough.

Mental note to self

If I have the slightest inclination to try and play my treasured electric guitar again, DON'T FREAKING PLAY METAL! Well at least until this stupid injury boils over.

What did 15 minutes of 'playing' get me? A right hand thats wrapped up once again. Jeez. I thought 2+ weeks of R&R was enough. Guess not dammit.

Now here I am, hand wrapped up, popping Ibuprofen already and probably going to go to Walgreen's on my way back to pick up an proper brace. This bandage wrap is handy dandy but not cutting it anymore.

I mean how the freaking hell could I get injured playing guitar. I only did multiple 8 hour straight sessions?! That's weak! BAH!

I just want this stupid tendinitis to be over with. Godspeed.
